Progress Made

Shown with new Firestone FR380 tires, re-finished rims I did myself (I wasn't about to shell out 600$ and wait 3 weeks for someone else to media blast them, so I did it myself with my blasting equipment). I cleaned up the top, and it's in really good shape considering it's been stored.

I also replaced the front rotors, pads, brake lines and repacked the bearing. Fresh oil and filter was added, as was quite a bit of penetrating lubricant on the rear brakes and parking brake lines, which now function as they should. The front calipers were almost stuck solid, so I rebuilt those, letting them free up a bit with some P/L. They are getting better the more I use the brakes, and will be great once the shiny surface wears off the new brake parts. - I really had to clean up the pins on the calipers that held in the pins. The rear end got a new set of Monroe Sensatrack shocks, which were mighty hard to find, in the right size. The old shocks had no return at all, and were totally shot.

The body, is in pretty good shape, a new paint job in a year or two, but will retain the BRG color on it, it's a good color, and not common.

Inside, well, I'm hoping to redo the interior over the winter with some new seat upholstery and interior carpeting. The dash needs to be replaced, but otherwise, it's in good shape. I've replaced the stereo with a spare JVC deck CD/MP3 deck I had laying around, and is barely visible when off and parked and added in some Alpine 6x9 speakers that the mice haven't eaten and it sounds pretty good, or, as good as I'm going to make it sound being a convertible. As long as I can hear some Buffett, that's all that counts.
Overall, this last week has been very productive on the car. Between my father helping me get it rolling and out of his garage, to Mike helping me on Sunday with the brakes, wiring, oil and an array of other things, to my Uncle stopping out to examine my framework that needs to be done, it's a collaborative effort that has so far, has been very productive!

I'm looking forward to getting the frame and wiring fixed up and out on the road. Will be a nice golf course car, except the clubs don't fit in the trunk.
